LA Fashion Week is not one event run by one body. Several producers hold shows around Los Angeles each spring and fall; here is who they are, where shows were held in 2025, and what to check for 2026.

LA Fashion Week is the name given to the twice-yearly run of runway shows and presentations in Los Angeles, but unlike New York, London, Milan and Paris, it has no single organizing body. According to Wikipedia, multiple show producers hold events throughout greater Los Angeles each March and October, and the Los Angeles Times has described it as a set of overlapping fashion weeks, not one. If you are asking what LA Fashion Week is, who runs it and how it differs from the big four, the short answer is: several private producers, a loose calendar, and a mix of invitation-only and public events.

What it is

The Los Angeles Times, as quoted on Wikipedia, describes it this way: "Fashion Week (or more accurately weeks) in Los Angeles occurs each spring and fall with multiple organizations (currently including Art Hearts Fashion, L.A. Fashion Week and Style Fashion Week) holding events throughout greater Los Angeles shortly after the twice-yearly Paris women's ready-to-wear shows have wrapped."

That sentence captures the structure. There is a spring and a fall season, the timing follows the end of the Paris shows, and different companies run different shows. Wikipedia says the city traditionally identified the third weekend of March and October as the start of Fashion Week, but independent producers have been shifting events closer to LA Fashion Market Week.

A short history

Wikipedia traces the idea to the early 2000s. In 2002, IMG's fashion division, which also produces New York's shows, launched Mercedes-Benz Shows LA at The Standard hotel in downtown, while Smashbox Studios in Culver City ran its own fashion week. In 2003 the two united at Smashbox Studios, and that partnership ended after the October 2008 shows. The Los Angeles Times later called that moment the end of "the closest thing L.A. had to a unified fashion week."

After 2008 the field fragmented. A producer acquired a trademark on the name "LA Fashion Week" in 2015, according to the Times, and organizers have at various times been described as "official," including by then-mayor Eric Garcetti, as Wikipedia notes. The Times wrote that it was "not even sure what that designation exactly means."

“Part of our reimagining of L.A. Fashion Week is incorporating beauty, technology and sustainability, and leveraging the renaissance that Los Angeles is going through.”

Who runs it now

Three names recur. Art Hearts Fashion, founded by designer Erik Rosete of the label Mister Triple X according to FOX 11, produced "LA Fashion Week powered by Art Hearts" in 2025. N4xt Experiences acquired the L.A. Fashion Week event in January 2022, according to Glossy, with co-founder Ciarra Pardo, formerly chief creative officer at Fenty Corp, directing the revamp. Style Fashion Week is the third producer the Times named.

In 2022, Glossy reported the revamped event ran October 6 to 9 with fourteen participating brands, including Guess and a collaboration between Sami Miro Vintage and Levi's, and three official venue partners: Lighthouse Immersive ArtSpace LA, Citizen News and Edition West Hollywood. It also added beauty, technology and wellness programming and immersive experiences next to runway shows.

The 2025 edition, for reference

The most recent edition we could confirm was run by Art Hearts Fashion. FOX 11 reported three nights of runway shows at The New Mart in downtown Los Angeles, with different designers each night. Fashion Week Online listed the dates as October 16 to 18, 2025. FOX 11 named designers including Coral Castillo, Glaudi, David Tupaz, Merlin Castell and Cross Colours, and the Black Design Collective closing the final night.

For 2026, we could not confirm dates, producers or a venue in any source we opened. Trade listings circulate with dates, but some of them carry stale boilerplate, so verify with the producer directly. The fall season has historically fallen in October, shortly after Paris.

How it differs from the big four

New York, London, Milan and Paris each have a recognized body that publishes an official calendar: in London, for example, the British Fashion Council. Los Angeles has none; each producer publishes its own schedule. That has three practical consequences.

First, dates move. There is no single master calendar, so two producers can run in the same week or in different weeks. Second, the "official" label is contested. Third, the audience mix is different: Wikipedia says LA has some shows open to the general public alongside invitation-only events, while the big four are largely trade and press events. For how the established weeks are organized, read our explainer on fashion week, and for the New York experience see how New York Fashion Week tickets work.

How to find a show

Start with the producer's own site (Art Hearts Fashion, for example, sold tickets for its 2025 shows through its website, per FOX 11's pointer to ticket information) and confirm the date, venue and whether tickets are public. Be careful of listings that give a single date without naming a producer; Los Angeles has several, and dates on aggregator sites can lag. We do not recommend any ticket reseller.

Our take

LA Fashion Week matters as a regional showcase for independent and emerging designers, and as an easier door in for the public than the big four. It is not a trade calendar the way Paris is. Anyone planning to attend should verify the producer and the date, and should read the word official as an advertisement, not a credential.
