Vansza release date: Vans and SZA's first collection drops October 22, with shoes at $110 and $115
By Zain·
SZA's first collection as Vans artistic director launches October 22, 2026, with a second drop set for April 8, 2027. Here is what is confirmed, and what is not.
Vans and SZA's first collection together, branded Vansza, goes on sale October 22, 2026, at Vans stores and on Vans.com. Two shoes are priced: the Knu Skool Mule at $115 and the Authentic at $110, according to three sneaker outlets that listed them. That is the confirmed core. The rest is a short list of things worth checking before you plan a morning around it.
The dates
FashionUnited, which reported the launch on October 16, 2026, lists Drop 1 for October 22 at Vans retail locations and online, with a global digital and brick and mortar launch. Drop 2 follows on April 8, 2027. SZA is scheduled to appear at Vans Glendale Galleria in California on October 17 and at Foot Locker in the Freehold Raceway Mall in New Jersey on October 21.
The collection was first shown in New York. FashionUnited says an installation at 260 Bowery ran during New York Fashion Week on September 10 and 11. Sneaker outlets say the drop reaches Vans and select retailers, but none we opened named them. Foot Locker appears only as the host of an appearance, not as a confirmed seller.
What is in Drop 1
The two headline shoes are the Vansza Knu Skool Mule and the Vansza Authentic. Sole Retriever describes the mule as a monochrome black upper with a white side stripe, a puffy tongue and an open back. FashionUnited and Sneaker Bar Detroit add that the Authentic carries fish prints, with custom artwork by Sage Adams, distressed canvas and a collapsible heel that folds down into a slip-on. The name is spelled Kickdown by FashionUnited and Vans' product URL, and Knockdown by Sole Retriever, so expect inconsistency in listings.
Apparel is part of the drop. FashionUnited lists a Trompe L'Oeil Fleece Set with a photorealistic print of a worn workwear jacket, a denim hunting jacket and a multi-pocket denim pant. Sneaker Bar Detroit mentions snap shorts and a reversible fishing vest. None of the sources we opened gave apparel prices.

The prices, and the catch
Sole Retriever's product listings give the Knu Skool Mule at $115 and the Authentic at $110. Sneaker Bar Detroit and HotNewHipHop report the same two numbers. The same Sole Retriever page also shows $100 for both shoes in a summary box, which contradicts its own listings, and a search snippet from another outlet gave a lower US price that we did not open and do not use.
“I love a mule and I love a slide-on.”
Our problem is that Vans' own news page and product page returned an access denied error to us this run, so we could not read the brand's price directly. Treat $115 and $110 as consistent third party reports, as read on October 18, 2026, and confirm on vans.com.
Where this fits
SZA's role is formal. VF Corporation's release of August 15, 2025 announced her as Vans artistic director in a multi-year creative partnership, tasked to reimagine campaigns and co-create exclusive product collections. In it she says: "I've been wearing Knu Skools and other styles for years, they've always had an ethos I connect with." So the Knu Skool mule is a continuation of a shoe she already wore, not a surprise.
For readers tracking this kind of release, a named-artist collection with a second drop six months later is a familiar structure. Our explainer on what a drop is and how limited releases work covers the mechanics, and our sneaker release calendar tracks the next few weeks of dates and retail prices.
The design story
Sneaker Bar Detroit says the fish prints on the Authentic are a nod to SZA's marine biology background and her Ctrl Fishing Co. project, and describes insect graphics printed on the insoles of the mule. Its own wording is the only source for the fishing link, so treat it as the outlet's reading, not Vans' statement. The apparel leans the same way, with a reversible fishing vest and workwear pieces, which fits SZA's remark about workwear being uncomfortable to move around in.
About the resale numbers
Sole Retriever's page lists later resale prices of $174 for the Knu Skool Mule and $217 for the Authentic. They are not dated, they do not say which marketplace or size, and a resale price before a release is a listing price, not a completed sale. We are not reporting them as market value. Our usual rule applies: resale prices are read live and dated, and a limited run is a marketing choice, not proof of demand.
Launch day checklist
Three things are worth doing before October 22. Confirm both shoe prices on vans.com, since our figures are third party reports. Check whether your size and the apparel are listed there, because sizes and apparel prices were not in anything we opened. And remember the October 17 and October 21 appearances are meet and greet events at named stores, which the outlets do not describe as sales.
What nobody has said
Vans has not disclosed how many pairs it is making, and no source we opened gives a quantity. Without it, "limited" means nothing measurable. Nor do the sources say whether prices will differ for sizes, regions or retailers. VF Corporation, Vans' parent, has not published sales expectations for the collection in anything we found.
Our take
This is a straightforward artist collection with a clear date, two modestly priced shoes and a second drop already scheduled. The $110 and $115 prices are reasonable for the category, but confirm them on the day. Skip anyone selling you a premium before launch. Watch October 22 for stock depth, because that, not social media chatter, shows whether Vans made it scarce on purpose.
